“PRESIDENT`s CUP” INTERNATIONAL KARATE TOURNAMENT ENDS IN BAKU
The “President`s Cup” international karate tournament commemorating the 85th anniversary of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev ended in Baku.
Azerbaijani fighters won five golds, one silver and five bronzes at the tournament which brought together 127 athletes from 23 countries worldwide.
In the men`s event, Gurban Tagıyev, Rashad Huseynov, Rafael Agayev, Mehman Eynalov and Orkhan Heydarli won golds, while Yusif Jafarov, Rustam Madatov, Shahin Atamov and Amal Atayev had to be satisfied with bronze.
In the women`s event, Azerbaijan`s silver medal came from Elmira Babayeva, while Jamila Mammadova won bronze.
Rafael Agayev became the tournament`s absolute winner.
