PROTOCOL OF TRIPARTITE MEETING OF HEADS OF RAILWAYS SIGNED IN MOSCOW
The said document pawns ground for creation of the international consortium for construction of the new branch line, which is taking place through Azerbaijan and Iran to Russia.
The head of department of Azerbaijan State Railway Arif Askerov, the president of the company of «Russian Railways» Company Gennady Fadeev and the deputy minister of roads and transport of Iran Saidnejat Mohammad signed the document.
At ceremony of signing of tripartite protocol Arif Askerov has stated that the Azerbaijan side expresses confidence that the idea of realization of the project "North -South" would be realized and this project be not less competitive, than others. As he said, except for increase in volumes of cargo and receptions by our states of the economic profit, this project will serve closer integration of our peoples and economic prosperity of our states.
Heads of railways of Russia and Iran also have emphasized importance of realization of the said project. As the head of the Russian railway G. Fadeev has emphasized, after signing the protocol, the second, more difficult stage of realization of the project, including study legal and rules of law, the coordination of the project with the governments of states - participants, its feasibility report, and also questions of financing and individual share of each side begins. All these questions will be studied by working group at a level of experts which should prepare corresponding documents for the next meeting of "three" in Baku.
