RECEPTION AT AZERBAIJAN EMBASSY IN ISLAMABAD
Over 400 representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Islamabad including state and government bodies of Pakistan, Senate, National Assembly, political parties and the public gathered at the Reception Hall decorated with portraits of Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Parviz Musarraf of Pakistan and national flags of the two states, to mark the national holiday of Azerbaijan Republic.
Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkish Republic Abdulkadir Aksu and accompanying delegation staying on a visit to Pakistan also attended the ceremony, and told many kind words about President Ilham Aliyev. On behalf of President of Pakistan and the government, the country’s Minister of Religious Affairs Mohammad Ijas il Hag offered congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the Day of Republic.
On the base of material prepared by the Azerbaijan Embassy, the influential Pakistani magazine “Voice” issued special edition devoted to the national holiday of Azerbaijan. The magazine’s front and back covers shows the image of the state flag of Azerbaijan, text of Azerbaijan anthem and photograph of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The reception participants were also given materials published by the influential newspapers “Pakistan observer” “Nation”, and “The News” in connection with the national holiday of Azerbaijan, and the book “Heydar Aliyev And His Azerbaijan” re-published by the Embassy in Urdu.

Three days before, the Embassy held a conference dedicated to the 86th anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, at the Department of Defense And Strategic Studies of Gaydi Azam University, a one of the largest higher educational institutions of Pakistan.
The conference participants saw the documentary on Azerbaijan, and heard the report by Ambassador Eynulla Madatli, who gave detailed answers to the large number of questions related to Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan’s relations with CIS, NATO, CE and other regional and international structures, and role of the country in combating international terrorism.
