REGULAR MEETING OF CIBC MEMBERS WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF US COMMERCIAL DEPARTMENT HELD
As was informed to correspondent of AzerTAj from the information-analytical center of CIBC, the visitors were informed on establishment of the Club which has been created in June 2002 and has received development due to support of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. This support is felt to this day not only by members of CIBC, but also by all businessmen working in Azerbaijan. Being the first vice-president of SOCAR Ilham Aliyev became the first co-chairman of CIBC from the Azerbaijan side.
Speaking at the meeting, director of the Center of protection of trade and commercial department of the United States Daniel Blum has noted, that during visit to Baku, discussed were the questions of development of the American business in Azerbaijan. As he said, this department supports the American companies all over the world, including in Azerbaijan.
The visitor has emphasized that in the work the department tries to define the important partners to develop further relations with them. The American companies, for successful business dealing in Azerbaijan want to get support of department. “We, in turn, consider the form of rendering of this support. As a whole, we try to adjust this support so that the trust of the American companies grew. Therefore, our work is not limited to only financial support”, stated Mr. D. Blum.
Sales representative of BISNIS, the manager on the country for commercial department of the USA Chang Su in his statement has said: "Our purpose is to involve the American investors to Azerbaijan. The second purpose is to adjust trade with Azerbaijan".
"Not the secret, that oil is the important factor of development of economy. But for the USA it is important and development of non-oil sector. We are engaged in development of oil and non-oil sectors as in Baku, and in the regions ", added Chung Su. As he said, now various programs for achievement of these purposes are being developed.
