Representatives of California`s Monterey visit Lankaran region of Azerbaijan
Lankaran, March 28 (AZERTAC). Representatives of California`s Monterey city visited the Lankaran region of Azerbaijan during Novruz holiday.
The Azerbaijani town of Lankaran and Monterey have had sisterhood relationship since 2010.
Representatives of Monterey local authority Eric Lauritzen and Nancy Selfridge visited places of interest in Lankaran and were informed on the socio-economic development, tourism potential of the region.
Eric Lauritzen told journalists that he is interested in agriculture sphere. “We met with tea-growers and viewed tea plantations,” he added.
Lauritzen stressed that people of Lankaran should visit California. He added such visits are important in terms of joint activity.
Nancy Selfridge spoke of her second visit to Lankaran, adding they witnessed changes in the city. She noted the main aim of the visit is to prepare many projects on Lankaran-Monterey relations.
