ROLE OF TRADE UNIONS IN PROTECTION OF THE LABOUR RIGHTS FOCUSED
Chairman of ACTU in detail informed visitors on the activity of trade unions of Azerbaijan, the historical way gone by them. Having touched the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorny Karabakh conflict, Sattar Mehbaliyev has noted the work done by the leadership of our country for peaceful settlement of the said conflict, and support of Turkish Republic in this area, has informed visitors on the role of trade unions in protection of the social and economic rights of workers. He has emphasized the teamwork which has been carried out in interrelation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of the Population of Republic, the actions conducted with the executive structures in the field of performance of positions of the General Collective Agreement concluded with the government, the role of trade unions at realization of the important state decisions in the direction of elimination of problems of unemployment, value of migration of workers, questions of mutual protection of their social rights.
With satisfaction having noted expansion of bilateral links between our countries in the field of social protection, joint realization of the international projects, common position from which our states act on the international arena, the chairman of ACTU has once again informed visitors value of the friendly relations established with trade unions of brotherly Turkey.
Having thanked the chairman of ACTU for warm reception, the minister of work and social security of Turkey Murat Bashesgioglu has expressed satisfaction with brotherly and friendly links of our countries, has declared that the multilateral relations, established between trade unions are worthy. He has emphasized, that signing of the Procedural Contract concerning application of the cooperation agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the field of social protection has great value, stating that the said agreement would play a special role in maintenance of the social and economic rights of workers. Highly having estimated work of Coordination Council of the trade unions created in due time under the initiative and with the active help of Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, M. Bashesgioglu has noted necessity of continuation of this positive experience. The Minister has stated that the tasks assigned to trade unions in protection of the social and economic rights of workers, are of great importance. He also has informed participants of the meeting on the work done by the ministry in connection with the social rights of workers.
