RUSSIAN FOOD AID ARRIVES IN AZERBAIJAN
The Government of Russian Federation has made delivery of $2 million-worth food aid to Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs.
The consignment of 2,016 tons of flour and 217.5 tons of vegetable oil was delivered to the representation of UN World Food Program (WFP) in Barda region on Thursday.
The aid will be enough for 75 thousand IDPs during four months.
Speaking at a ceremony to mark the occasion, Nikolay Zelenyuk, representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, and Vasili Istratov, Russian ambassador in Baku, said their country is always ready to help people in need.
Deputy Head of the Department for Problems of Refugees, IDPs, Migration and Work with International Organizations at the Cabinet of Azerbaijan Mahammad Maharramov and WFP Country Director for Azerbaijan Lynne Miller thanked the Russian government for the aid.
