S. KOREAN ECONOMY GROWS 1.8 PER CENT IN FIRST QUARTER
Baku, April 27 (AZERTAC). Rising exports and increased domestic demand contributed to economic growth of 1.8 per cent in South Korea in the first quarter. The quarter-on-quarter growth was substantially higher than in the final quarter of last year when gross domestic product (GDP) registered an increase of 0.2 per cent. South Korea`s economy grew 7.8 per cent in the first quarter compared with the same period from a year earlier, turning out its best performance in more than seven years.
