Secretary General Helga Schmid: OSCE attaches importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan

“OSCE attaches importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan,” said Secretary General Helga Schmid as she met with Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in the UK.
The sides discussed topical issues on the agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OSCE, including regional issues.
FM Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan, which supports effective multilateralism in the protection of international peace and security, cooperates with a number of international and regional organizations, including the OSCE.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the secretary general about the current situation in the region during the post-conflict period, including Azerbaijan's efforts towards the normalization of relations with Armenia and the advancement of the peace agenda.
He emphasized that despite the current challenges and difficulties, Azerbaijan is determined to continue its efforts to establish peace and security in the region.
Secretary General Helga Schmid stressed the importance of peacebuilding efforts in terms of eliminating tension in the region.
They also exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.
