Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade addresses First International Islamic Forum in Uzbekistan

A delegation from Azerbaijan, led by Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), attended the First International Islamic Forum, themed “Islamic Civilization: The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment,” at the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Prior to the forum, the participants toured the complex.
Addressing the event, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade highlighted the brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, as well as between the leaders of the two countries. He also stressed the importance of joint efforts to preserve Islamic civilization.
He commended Uzbekistan’s efforts to preserve its religious and cultural heritage and to advance Islamic studies. He also underscored the importance of cooperation among the religious leaders of the Turkic states, noting that Baku will host the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in September this year.
The Chairman further noted that preparations are underway for an international conference dedicated to the legacy of the prominent Islamic scholar Seyyid Yahya Bakuvi.
The CMO Chairman also praised efforts to promote the legacy of renowned Islamic scholars, including Imam Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi, and Imam Maturidi.
