Young Azerbaijani artist opens exhibition in France
Baku, September 7 (AZERTAC). A gala opening ceremony of young and talented Azerbaijani painter Maryam Alakbarli`s exhibition was held in Deauville which is a commune in the Calvados department in the Basse-Normandie region in northwestern France.
Deauville has been an equestrian centre and an elegant seaside rendez-vous ever since Louis Napoleon Bonaparte`s illegitimate half brother, the Duc de Morny, drained its marches in the 1860s and transformed it into a haven for monied Londoners and Parisians.
Sponsored by award-winning French actress, artist and dancer Juliette Binoche, the young artist`s exhibition consisting of 81 pictures, was co-organized by the American Films Festival Organization Committee and Groupe Lucien Barriere at the Royal Barriere and Normandy Barriere hotels of Deauville.
The solemn opening ceremony of the exhibition held at Royal Barrier hotel was opened by representative of the Groupe Lucien Barriere Laurent Roussen.
The Groupe Lucien Barriere representative noted that the exhibition of the young Azerbaijani painter has concurred with 39th American Film Festival.
Speaking of the yearnings of the talented Maryam`s works, Laurent Roussen noted that a number of the well-known artists` have praised her pictures.
Addressing the event People`s Artist of USSR, Russia and Azerbaijan, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts, member of academies of art of France, Spain, Germany and Austria Tahir Salahov praised works of Maryam Alakbarli, expressing satisfaction with the opening of the exhibition here in Deauville.
Well-known Azerbaijani Artist Tahir Salahov also expressed confidence that Maryam`s works will gain excellent achievements in the future.
Deauville city Mayor Philippe Augier also spoke of the young and talented Azerbaijani painter`s style praising it as mostly realistic. He ended his speech wishing Maryam successes in her future career.
Art lovers visiting the exhibition highly appreciated the professionalism of Maryam`s works.
Talking on the character of the Azerbaijani Painter, the participant of the exhibition Jak Cronje hailed the images of the nature at the pictures.
The event participants watched the reel describing the artist`s meetings with well-known art masters from the whole world and the information on the exhibition.
The event was also attended by Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov, officials of the Deauville city municipality, famous actors and actresses, and family of the young artist.
