Baku, November 25 (AZERTAC). “The American politicians and scientific researchers get the news on truths about Azerbaijan from AZERTAC as a reliable source,” Alexandros Petersen, Advisor to Global Europe Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, has told Director General of Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AZERTAC) Aslan Aslanov as he visited the Agency`s headquarters.
Mr Petersen said the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars uses AZERTAC`s news while researching Azerbaijan and the whole Caspian region.
Mr Aslanov highlighted AZERTAC`s history, activities, and international relations.
Noting Azerbaijan`s increasing international influence, the Director General said the country`s successes open new opportunities for AZERTAC to broaden its international relations.
He said President Ilham Aliyev declared 2013 as “Year of Information and Communication Technologies”.
Mr Petersen proposed establishment of cooperation between the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and AZERTAC, saying this cooperation will contribute to spreading Azerbaijani realities in the United States, as well as eliminating double standards about the country.
He said Azerbaijan with its successes in domestic and foreign policy has become the leader of the region.
“Every American must think about these successes, while hearing the name of Azerbaijan,” he noted.
Mr Petersen hailed Azerbaijan`s development, saying he has witnessed development every time he visits the country.
