94th anniversary of Azerbaijani Democratic Republic marked abroad
Baku, June 4 (AZERTAC). The 94th anniversary of the establishment of Azerbaijani Democratic Republic was celebrated in foreign countries.
An official reception was organized in Tunisia on occasion of 28 May- the Republic Day.
The event was attended by government officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Tunisia, employees of the international organizations, Azerbaijanis living there and others. Tunisian Minister of Women and Family Affairs Sihem Badi and Tunisian Minister of State in Charge of European Affairs Al-Tuhami Abduouli were also among the attendees.
Photos and books on Azerbaijani place of interests, culture and art were exhibited during the event.
Participators were informed on 28 May, the Republic Day of Azerbaijan, the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by Azerbaijani ambassador to Tunisia Sabir Agabayov. The envoy said that Azerbaijan has ancient statehood traditions and the first democratic republic in the East was established here. He said it was national leader Heydar Aliyev`s huge experience and wise policy that saved Azerbaijan when it was on the verge of collapse.
Mukhtarov underlined “the successful continuation of this policy by President Ilham Aliyev has ensured systematic and complex development of Azerbaijan”.
The envoy also noted Azerbaijan`s highly organization of Eurovision 2012.
Sabir Agabayov touched upon the relationship existing between Azerbaijan and Argentina.
The event demonstrated Azerbaijani music and video on the country`s tourism and cultural opportunities.
The attendees of the event were presented with books and journals about the country.
The Tunisian newspaper “Ash-Shuruq” published an extensive article on Azerbaijan`s republic Day.

Azerbaijani embassy in Turkmenistan has organized a solemn event on “28 May- Republic Day of Azerbaijan” and the 20th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries at President Hotel of Ashgabat.
The event brought together Turkmenistan officials, representative of local authorities as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps in Turkmenistan, members of diasporas and Azerbaijani businessmen living there.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijani ambassador Vahdat Sultanzade spoke about establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR), the first democratic republic in the Muslim East, as well as the founding of the modern and independent Azerbaijani state.
He praised the role leader Heydar Aliyev bringing the Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan relations to the highest level.
The ambassador added President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues this policy.
In his turn, country`s Deputy Prime Minister Sapardurdi Toyliyev congratulated the Azerbaijani government and people on behalf of Turkmenistan government and president Gurbangulu Berdimahammadov on the Republic Day.
Then, the event was continued by the concert of art masters of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani tastes and meals were served at the ceremony.

Another event to mark 28 May- Azerbaijan`s Republic day was held in Athens. Azerbaijani embassy to Greece has organized a concert program to mark the Republic Day and the 20th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Greece.
According to the embassy, famous violinist Sabina Raksheyeva and the pianist Vagif Sadikhov performed the famous classical compassions by the Azerbaijani composers.
The Azerbaijani musicians were accompanied by the Greek and Irag`s performers.
The event was attended by the Greek officials, deputies, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Athens, business circles, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani and Greek communities and the media.
Visiting Greece, the Azerbaijani deputy Ganira Pashayeva was among the attendees also.
As a whole the event was attended by more than 600 spectators.
The event ended with a banquet organized for the participants.
