Berghof Foundation delegation visits State Committee for Refugee and IDP Affairs

Chairman of Azerbaijan`s State Committee for Refugee and IDP Affairs Rovshan Rzayev has met with a delegation of the Berghof Foundation led by Caucasus Program Director Oliver Wolleh.
Wolleh highlighted the projects implemented by the Berghof Foundation in the Caucasus, including in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views over continuation of IDP-related "History and Memory - as a basis for dialogue" project of the Foundation and discussed prospects for future cooperation.
Rzayev drew the delegation’s attention to the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He highlighted the measures taken by the Azerbaijani government to address the problems of refugees and internally displaced persons suffering from this conflict.
The committee chairman said that improving the living conditions of refugees and internally displaced persons is one of the priorities of social policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, adding that first vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva also maintains focus on the issue.
Rzayev highlighted the projects of German humanitarian organizations to address IDPs' problems in Azerbaijan.
Based in Germany, the Berghof Foundation is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organization that supports efforts to prevent political and social violence, and to achieve sustainable peace through conflict transformation.
