Alekseevna takes women`s boxing bronze

Baku, June 26, AZERTAC

Azerbaijan`s boxer Yana Alekseevna has won bronze at the first European Games after losing to Katie Taylor of Ireland in the semifinal of the women's lightweight (57-60 kg) category.

"I feel tired after the fight. It was a strong competition and just a tiny step prevented me from winning. She (TAYLOR) is a worthy opponent. I don't feel pity to be defeated by her. She is my idol after my father. I am a fan of Katie," she said after the bout.
