Ashot Grigorian attempts to stop adoption of already accepted resolution
Baku, March 5 (AZERTAC). “Czech Parliament will never adopt a bill on so-called Khojaly Genocide. We won’t allow this,” said Ashot Grigorian, Chairman of the Forum of Armenian Associations of Europe (FAAE) on 26 February in the press conference.
Ashot Grigorian stated this after 19 days when the Czech Chamber of Deputies Foreign Relations Committee unanimously recognized Khojaly massacre as violent act. It is very hard to understand, what Ashot Grigorian intends to stop. The resolution has already been accepted and become a historical fact. According to the Czech legislation, the resolutions are considered accepted by the majority of the related parliamentary committee members. From the moment they are accepted in the committee, they are considered to reach final destination echoing the position of the parliament.
Ashot Grigorian who let it go for 3 weeks said: “Czech Foreign Affairs Ministry declared the resolution wasn’t intended for Khojaly events and the given question contradicts to the foreign policy of the country.”
Foreign Affairs Ministry indeed was not involved in the process, which is quite rational as the Parliament never consults legislative decisions of this kind with other structures.
Grigorian on his practice is also aware of this, as he had a similar issue while lobbying the resolution on “Armenian genocide”.
Grigorian has apparently lied on the second part of his declaration. Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Czech Republic has never declared that the resolution was clashing the foreign policy of the state”.
Grigorian has added this from himself while in the full text of the FAM of Czech there is no such evidence.
Armenian media claims that Foreign Affairs Ministry of the country has told that there was a mistake, the resolution has been spread in the Azerbaijani media earlier. But it has no deal with the fact of the resolution being accepted. Azerbaijani side has right to post information about the resolution.
