AUSTRIA, AZERBAIJAN: CO-OP RELATIONS EXPANDING
In the message received by AzerTAj from the center of public relations of the Ministry of National Security, it is stated that during meeting, passed in warm and business conditions, general - major Tofig Babayev has noted importance of expansion of cooperation and mutual activity of security service of both states, has said that the terrorism is one of forms of aggressive separatism, and has emphasized necessity of adjustment of more effective cooperation to fight it. The deputy minister has informed visitors that the terrorism is one of the basic directions of the state policy of Armenia and that on space of the CIS Azerbaijan is the first undergone to terror and has greatly suffered from it, and also about heavy consequences of terrorism.
He also has told about the work which has been carried last years in the Republic in the field of combat against terrorism, about strengthening of legislative base in the said area, expansion of cooperation with corresponding structures of states - partners, and also about results of the investigation actions which have been carried out by the Ministry of National Security.
Having expressed regret that he has failed to meet the minister of national security Eldar Mahmudov who is visiting now Kazakhstan, Mr. Erick Buksbaum has addressed with the request to transfer him congratulation of Minister of Internal Affairs of the country of Ernest Schtasser and the letter in which his ideas concerning further development of cooperation. Having emphasized, that Austria attaches special significance to cooperation with Azerbaijan being one of the active participants of the international antiterrorist coalition, the visitor has expressed confidence of the further development of partner connections in the said direction.
At the meeting, also was present the ambassador of Austria in Azerbaijan Ms. Haidemaria Gurer.
During the meeting, the sides also had exchange of opinions concerning realization of cooperation between security services of both states on concrete directions. Also were focused issues of arrangement on preparation of the corresponding document between the sides about cooperation in combat against terrorism, necessity of carrying out at the initial stage of meetings at the level of experts.
