Azerbaijan, Afghanistan discuss ICT cooperation
Baku, June 11 (AZERTAC). Baku has today hosted discussions on implementation of Azerbaijan`s experience in the electronic governance in Afghanistan.
The event was organized by the UNDP Azerbaijan and Afghanistan offices, the ministries of Communication and Information Technologies of the two countries and the Association of International Development Agencies (AIDA).
Speaking at the event, Azerbaijani deputy minister of Communication and Information technologies Elmir Valizade hailed Azerbaijan`s achievements in the ICT sector, particularly the launch of the first satellite Azerspace-1.
He also gave an insight into the Fiber to Home project that costs 500 mln dollars.
National Programme Officer at UNDP Azerbaijan Sultan Hajiyev underlined the importance of the event and stressed Azerbaijan`s assistance to Afghanistan in electronic governance area.
Baryalay Hassam, Deputy Minister-Technical of Afghanistan, expressed his country`s interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan.
