Azerbaijan attends international 3rd Gas Data Transparency conference in Jordan
Baku, June 19 (AZERTAC). Employee of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan Nargiz Babayeva has participated in the 3rd gas data transparency conference in Bali, Jordan.
The Conference assessed progress made since the establishment of JODI-Gas as a permanent global data transparency initiative and reviewed findings from the on-going beta testing of the JODI-Gas database, which was launched in January of this year. Around 70 countries representing roughly 80% of global natural gas supply and demand are currently submitting data on a monthly basis. The agenda at the Third Gas Data Transparency Conference also involved an expert review of the final draft of the JODI-Gas Training Manual, and establishing a timeline towards the public launch the JODI-Gas database later this year.
The opening of the JODI Oil World database to the public is not the final goal of this initiative. The quality of the data will be assessed on a continuous basis too. However, transparency can only be achieved if all parties involved in the oil market fully participate.
Consisting of exhibition and conference, the event, which received the official support, achieved a significant impact as being the foremost platform of the oil & gas industry.
