Azerbaijan, Austria explore academic partnership in music and art education

As part of his visit to Austria, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Culture, People's Artist Murad Huseynov met with Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Art of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, a well-known musician and pedagogue Johannes Meissl, to discuss prospects for cooperation in musical education.
Leyla Gasimova, Director of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Vienna, and Markus Geiselhart, Associate Professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, jazz musician, also attended the meeting.
The dialogue focused on establishing partnership ties between the musical institutions of both countries through student and faculty exchanges, joint concert initiatives, and expanded academic research.
Murad Huseynov highlighted the importance of the long-standing cultural bond between the two countries, expressing hope these discussions would lay a vital foundation for future joint projects.
Both parties affirmed their commitment to enhancing cultural dialogue and advancing international cooperation in the field of music.
Following the meeting, the Azerbaijani delegation toured the university to familiarize themselves with its technical facilities and infrastructure.
