“AZERBAIJAN FACES ARMENIA`S AGGRESSION AND ITS GRAVE CONSEQUENCES”
Azerbaijani Minister of National Security, Lieutenant-General Eldar Mahmudov met Wednesday, with the co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe`s (PACE) Monitoring Committee on Azerbaijan Andreas Herkel and Yevgeniya Zhivkova. The meeting also attended by Samad Seyidov, chairman of the Standing Commission of the Milli Majlis for international relations and inter-parliamentary ties, head of the delegation of Azerbaijani Parliament to PACE.
Eldar Mahmudov spoke about Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan and its grave consequences. He said one of the principal problems of the aggression is the issue, regarding the destiny of missing people.
The Minister said Azerbaijan`s State Committee on POWs, Hostages and Missing People has established close relations with relevant international organizations regarding this problem.
“The main hardship in this sphere is the matter of occupation and sometimes invader Armenian Republic and separatist Nagorno-Karabakh regime violating international norms hide Azerbaijani captives and hostages from international organizations”, Eldar Mahmudov emphasized.
The Minister stressed, he has reliable information on 783 captives and hostages out of 4353 Azerbaijani citizens being kept in Armenia and other territories, occupied by this country.
