AZERBAIJAN, GREAT BRITAIN: DEVELOPMENT OF PARLIAMENTARY LINKS DISCUSSED
Fakhraddin Gurbanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Republic to the Great Britain, on 28 February met with the member of the British Parliament, head of the Great Britain-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary group, Vice-President of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA) and the member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) Bruce George.
In meeting, discussed were current state and prospects of development of the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Great Britain.
Amb. F. Gurbanov stressed necessity of development of ties between parliaments of the two countries and highlighted Mr. Bruce George on economic and political processes ongoing in Azerbaijan and region. He also touched upon the current situation in the process of settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
The Azeri Ambassador had comprehensive exchange of views with Mr. Bruce George on further strengthening of links between the legislatures of both countries, underlining importance of the realization of practical steps related to prospects of these ties.
Mr. Bruce George stated that the efforts made for further development of relations between Great Britain and Azerbaijan would be much more activated in the coming years. To this end, activity of the Great Britain-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary group will be intensified, Mr. B. George said.
