AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVED DELEGATION OF TURKEY
Noting that Azerbaijan is widely marking the 10th anniversary of the “Contract of Century”, President Ilham Aliyev stressed that Turkey has always been alongside Azerbaijan, and that Turkish companies are actively involved in the project.
He pointed out as well that during the last decade Azerbaijan had gained considerable achievements in all spheres of life including successful realization of the “Contract of Century”. We have laid the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline, and now are impatiently waiting for the launching the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Main Export Pipeline expected next year, the President said.
He also mentioned the visual progress in realization of the project on transportation to the world markets of natural gas from the “Shakhdaniz” field.
Touching upon the intensive development of the traditionally friendly and brotherly Azerbaijan-Turkey relationship, Preisdent Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence in its expanding and strengthening in future.
Minister Hilmi Guler thanked the President for the sincere conversation and the kind words, and passed on greeting and best wishes to him from President of Turkkey Ahmed Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
He noted the cooperation between the two countries is intensively develped in all spheres including that of oil, and especially emphasized that the Ceyhan terminal had been given the name of great son of the Turkish world Heydar Aliyev. That was a striking example of acknowledgement of his invaluable contribution to realization of the main export pipeline project, he said.
The Minister also touched upon the successful implementation of the “Shahdaniz” project noting the bilateral relations based on the national leader Heydar Aliyev’s wise words “We are one nation, two states” would further deepen and strengthen in the future.
Then, the Minister handed the letter from Turkey’s president Ahmet Necdet Sezer over to president Ilham Aliyev.
Present at the meeting was Ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan Ahmet Unal Chevikoz.
