AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT OFFERS CONDOLENCES TO KYRGYZ COUNTERPART OVER CHINGIZ AITMATOV`s DEATH
Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of condolence to Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev over the death of prominent writer Chingiz Aitmatov.
“The news of the death of world-famous writer, prominent statesman and political figure, Azerbaijan`s great friend Chingiz Torekulovich Aitmatov is a source of great sorrow to me”, President Aliyev said in the message.
The Azerbaijani leader said “on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own behalf, I offer sincere sympathies to You, the family and friends of Chingiz Aitmatov, and the people of Kyrgyzstan”.
