AZERBAIJAN, RUSSIAN LEADERS MEET IN PRIVATE
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev had a one-on-one meeting in Baku on Thursday.
President Ilham Aliyev said:
“Esteemed Dmitry Anatolyevich!
I cordially welcome You to Azerbaijan, I am pleased to see You. This is your first visit to our country, it is a great pleasure that you are visiting Azerbaijan shortly after taking up the post of the President. It is a very good sign of our cooperation, friendly relations between our countries. I`m confident the visit will be very successful and will serve to further strengthen our relations. We have a very wide agenda for today, a wide range of questions which represent mutual interest. I strongly believe the visit`s outcomes will be very successful, allowing us to move along actively”.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said:
“Esteemed Ilham Heydarovich!
I completely agree with what you have said. I am pleased to come for a visit and be a guest of you as we agreed during a summit in Saint Petersburg. It is pleasant that the Baku visit is taking place so soon. I`m confident we will have constructive talks, good results. A declaration and several documents that we will sign today will serve the interests of our peoples”.
