AZERBAIJAN STARTS GOLD EXPORTS

Baku, July 31 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan has sent a first portion of gold, 1,200 troy ounces, to Switzerland to be refined and subsequently sold at the international market.

Last week the government of Azerbaijan and US-based RV Investment Group signed a protocol to export gold from the country.

Reza Vaziri, president of RV Investment Group, said in August the export will make 2,000 troy ounces, adding from September the country will export 4,000 ounces of gold per month.

The price of gold is $950 for an ounce in the world markets.
