Azerbaijan, Togo agree to ink deal on customs cooperation
Baku, July 2 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and Togo have agreed to sign a bilateral cooperation agreement as heads of the two countries` customs authorities met in Brussels.
Chairman of State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev and head of Togo`s Customs Service Kodjo Adedze met on the sidelines of the WCO 121st/122nd Sessions of the Customs Co-operation Council.
They have explored ways of developing customs cooperation, and also discussed Azerbaijan`s experience in cynology service.
Heads of Customs administrations representing the 179 Members of the World Customs Organization (WCO) came together in the Belgian capital from 27 to 29 June for the WCO session.
This year`s discussions focused on a number of key issues, including organizational development, economic competitiveness, the importance of performance indicators, regional integration, the Globally Networked Customs concept and air cargo security, as well as supply chain transparency, quality data exchange and the strengthening of international engagement.
