Azerbaijan, US discuss prospects of cooperation
Baku, March 9 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and the US have explored ways of developing cooperation, as the country`s ambassador to US Elin Suleymanov, as part of the visit to Houston, has met mayor of the State Annise Danette Parker.
Mr. Suleymanov stressed the fact that Baku and Houston became sister cities, adding this played crucial role on establishment of relations between Azerbaijan and Texas State. He also briefed Annise Danette Parker on the Azerbaijan-America Friendship Day held in Austin City.
The ambassador thanked Annise Danette Parker for care and attention to Azerbaijani community and praised the support of Governors of the city on opening of Azerbaijan`s Cultural Centre in Houston.
Annise Danette Parker, in turn, hailed the steadily developing relations between Baku and Houston, which was the important energy centres of Azerbaijan and the US.
She also said there was a great potential for boosting relations in various spheres.
Ambassador Elin Suleymanov was accompanied by Vice President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Khaliq Mammadov, President of the Baku-Houston Sister Cities Association Irada Akhundova at the meeting.
