AZERBAIJANI DELEGATION VISITS SWITZERLAND
A delegation headed by Arzu Rahimov, chairman of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan, visited Switzerland. Within the framework of the visit, the delegation discussed further cooperation on regulation of migration issues and protection of persons seeking asylum with relevant state bodies of Switzerland. The visit took place on the invitation of the Switzerland Federal Office for Migration of Federal Department of Justice and Police.
Members of the delegation met with Mr. Ndioro Ndiaye, Deputy Director General of the International Organization for Migration, Antonio Guterres, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, as well as the head of the European Bureau of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees during the visit.
The Azerbaijani delegation briefed on the main goal of the establishment and direction of activities of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan. Moreover, the sides focused on problems of illegal migration, asylum procedures, legislation base for regulation of migration processes and certain cooperation in various fields and reached agreements on some issues during the held meetings.
