Azerbaijani designer’s collections win award in Astana

Renowned Azerbaijani designer Gulnara Khalilova’s collections have won an award at the Central Asian Green Runway EcoFashion Show in Astana. The show was held as part of the RES 2026 EXPO International Exhibition of Green and Sustainable Technologies.
At the event, the designer presented two collections — “Upcycling,” focused on reusing materials, and “Miniature,” inspired by medieval Azerbaijani art and carpet motifs.
In her remarks, Gulnara Khalilova emphasized that the Green Runway Fashion Show has become a platform for dialogue among key stakeholders, showcasing the potential of Central Asia and Azerbaijan in sustainable fashion, and presenting a model that combines aesthetics with environmental responsibility and cultural identity.
Gulnara Khalilova is a member of the Eurasian Association of Ethno-Designers and also heads the Azerbaijan National Clothing Center. Her collections have been successfully showcased at fashion weeks and international events in the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Austria, Romania, Türkiye, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria, Norway, Serbia, and other countries.
