AZERBAIJANI DIPLOMAT GIVES INTERVIEW TO RUSSİAN MEDİA GROUP LLC
Azerbaijan`s permanent representative to the UN Agshin Mehdiyev gave an interview to political analyst of the Russian Media Group LLC Boris Rabiner.
Mehdiyev told of Azerbaijan`s role in the contemporary world, its position in the international arena, balanced foreign policy, existing political stability in the country, economic progress.
Asked about Azerbaijan`s problems, Mehdiyev said the country faced Armenian aggression and policy of ethnic cleansing, which forced over 1 million from their homes and led to killing of 30 thousand Azerbaijanis. Azerbaijani diplomat mentioned UN, OSCE, CoE, OIC and other international and regional organizations adopted documents condemning occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia. He pointed out the UN resolution recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan including Nagorno-Karabakh and demands withdrawal of Armenia`s armed forces from occupied territories.
When asked about the situation of Jews in Azerbaijan, Mehdiyev said all peoples in Azerbaijan live in peace and harmony. According to him, Jews live in compact communities in the Gyrmyzy gasaba settlement, adding there are Jewish school, library and synagogue in Baku.
