AZERBAIJANI EMBASSY IN JAPAN MARKS REPUBLIC DAY
Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Japan hosted a reception to celebrate the Republic Day which marks the 90th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
Members of the Japanese parliament, governmental officials, representatives of business and public circles, diplomats, as well as Azerbaijanis living in Japan attended the event.
In his remarks, Azerbaijan`s Ambassador in Tokio Azer Hussein spoke of the history of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which was the first democratic republic in the Muslim world.
Akira Amira, Japan`s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and chairman of Azerbaijan-Japan Interparliamentary Friendship Group, praised the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev`s and President Ilham Aliyev`s role in strengthening Azerbaijan`s economic and political positions in the world.
The Minister also spoke of current level of relations between Japan and Azerbaijan.
Co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Japan Joint Economic Commission Akira Yokota was also among speakers who congratulated greetings to the Azerbaijani people.
