Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture attends 38th Session of FAO Conference in Italy
Baku, June 20 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abasov has participated in the 38th Session of the FAO Conference in Rome, Italy.
Mr. Abasov delivered a speech at the plenary session.
As part of the visit, the Minister met Officer-In-Charge for the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia Tony Alonzi.
Ismat Abasov expressed hope that cooperation between Azerbaijan and the FAO Regional Office would continue to expand during the tenure of Tony Alonzi.
Tony Alonzi said he would spare no efforts to contribute to developing the bilateral ties between the country and the organization.
Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov was also present at the events.
There is sufficient capacity in the world to produce enough food to feed everyone adequately; nevertheless, in spite of progress made over the last two decades, million people still suffer from chronic hunger. FAO Conference 38th Session was the best place for discussions.
The Reviewed Strategic Framework and the Program of Work and Budget and MediumTerm Plan that this Conference is called upon to approve, puts us on the right track.
These documents were discussed and improved with inputs received from all of the FAO Governing Bodies, including the five FAO Regional Conferences.
