A lot of sports lovers and representatives of sport public gathered early in the morning on August 31 at the Heydar Aliyev international airport to enthusiastically welcome Olympic champion, wrestler Farid Mansurov and bronze medallists Aghasi Mammadov and Fuad Aslanov.

In an interview to journalists, the Olympians first of all expressed their gratitude to President of Azerbaijan, president of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev, s well as leadership of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism for the constant care about athletes and development of sports on the whole. They also thanked Azerbaijani fans for the tremendous support.

With one gold and four bronze medals, Azerbaijani national team ranked 50th in the Olympic games among 202 member states and 37th - for quantity of medals. Azerbaijan took the fifth spot among CIS countries.
