Azerbaijani Parliamentary delegation ends visit to China
Baku, March 4 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation led by first vice-speaker Ziyafat Asgarov has ended visit to China, which took place on the invitation of the People`s Political Consultative Committee (CPPCC).
Mr. Asgarov, as part of the visit, has met Chairman of the CPPCC Jia Qinglin, Vice-Chairman Bai Lizhen, as well as officials of the of Shaanxi Political Consultative Committee and Chinese People`s Political Consultative Conference.
“China was one of those countries, which Azerbaijan established diplomatic relations after gaining the independence, Azerbaijan puts special emphasis on its relationship with China”, Vice-speaker told AZERTAC.
“The aim of the visit is to increase the further relationship between Azerbaijan and China. Expanding the relations, as well as improvement of these ties in the strategic level is important. We discussed bilateral relations, as well as political, economical, humanitarian ties while meeting our Chinese officials.”
He also stressed the importance of discussions on Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“UN Security Council adopted 4 resolutions on immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories,” he said.
On development of inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and China, Mr. Asgarov also praised both countries` current ties.
He also stressed the importance of holding the reciprocal visits on further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
The Vice-speaker noted there was a great potential for developing and boosting relations between Azerbaijan and China.
