AZERBAIJAN`S DEFENSE MINISTER MEETS UKRAINE`S DEFENSE MINISTER IN BAKU
Safar Abiyev, Defense Minister of Azerbaijan met with Ukraine`s Defense Minister Yuri Yekhanurov in Baku.
Mr. Abiyev said Ukraine-Azerbaijan economic relations contribute to expansion of both countries` cooperation even more.
According to him, documents signed during Azerbaijani President`s visit to Ukraine gave new impetus to developing cooperation between the two countries. Azerbaijan considers Ukraine as a friend and strategic partner. Ukraine`s voting for the resolution “The situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan” adopted by the UN General Assembly is an evidence of this friendship, said Safar Abiyev.
The Azerbaijani Minister stressed Armenia`s aggressive policy against Azerbaijan aggravated the situation in the region adding that the talks to resolve the dispute have not yielded any results. According to him, unless the conflict is settled peacefully Azerbaijan will resort to every action to liberate its occupied territories.
The sides also exchanged views on prospects of military cooperation between the two countries and other issues of mutual interest.
Ukraine`s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Boris Klimchuk was also present at the event.
