AZERBAIJAN`S FM MEETS WITH CHAIRMAN OF FINNISH PARLIAMENT’S COMMITTEE
Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov met Friday with the Finnish delegation led by chairman of this country`s parliamentary Committee for Foreign Affairs Pertti Salolainen.
Salolainen said the aim of his visit is to get better acquainted with Azerbaijan, and study prospects for cooperation.
According to the Head of the Finnish delegation, Finland’s Foreign Minister is scheduled to visit Azerbaijan later in February while President of Azerbaijan to make a trip to Finland in May. These trips will play an important role in expanding bilateral ties, he said.
Minister Mammadyarov stressed the importance of Azerbaijan-Finland bilateral relations. He told of the economic situation in Azerbaijan and regional projects being implemented here. Minister noted revenues would be channeled into human capital development, improvement of the people’s welfare in the regions, and development of the non-energy sector.
On the Armenia`s aggressive policy against Azerbaijan, Mammadyarov said protraction of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is the obstacle for the stability and development in the region.
