AZERI WRESTLERS CLAIM 14-MEDAL HAUL IN ANTALYA
Azerbaijani wresters placed second in the medal table at the international “Victory Cup” tournament in Antalya, Turkey, where their medal tally made 14, including 4 golds.
According to Azerbaijan`s Wrestling Federation, the golds came from Eldaniz Azizli (46 kg) and Rasul Junayev (58 kg) in the Greco-Roman event, and Chingiz Gakhajov (42 kg) and Ibrahim Yusubov (63 kg) in the freestyle event.
The silver haul was claimed by freestylers Haji Aliyev (54 kg), Aslanbek Alborov (85 kg) and Aslan Jabishov (100 kg), and, in the Greco-Roman event, by Niyameddin Ibrahimov (69 kg).
Azeri wrestlers who won bronze are: Togrul Asgarov (46 kg), Nurlan Hajiyev (58 kg) and Farid Mustafayev (76 kg) in the freestyle event, while Sarkhan Mammadov (50 kg), and Orhan Pashayev and Orhan Ismayilov (both 58 kg) in the Greco-Roman event.
