AZERTAC honored with "Akinchi" award

On July 16, Baku hosted an event titled “Akinchi-150 Years: The Voice of Our History” and “Carpets Will Tell the History of Western Azerbaijan.”
The gathering, initiated and led by EMEDIA GROUP Media Organization and co-organized by the Khatai District Executive Authority, the Western Azerbaijan Community, and the Baku City Department of Culture, featured comprehensive presentations on the 150th anniversary of the national press and the role of carpet art in preserving the history of Western Azerbaijan.
Organizers held this important cultural and political event within the framework of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty”, emphasizing the promotion of freedom of speech and expression, the dissemination of national press history, and the strengthening of sovereignty ideals. The primary goal was to keep history alive, protect cultural values and tangible heritage, and pass them on to future generations.
The anniversary edition of this event, traditionally held by EMEDIA GROUP to mark the founding of the national press, placed particular focus on historical values. One of the central segments, “Carpets Will Tell the History of Western Azerbaijan”, stood out for its symbolic and cultural depth.
Speakers at the event, including Rafiq Guluyev, Head of the Khatai District Executive Authority, Elshan Aliyev, Chairman of EMEDIA GROUP, Chairman of the Board of the Western Azerbaijan Community, Member of Parliament Aziz Alakbarli, and Misir Mardanov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Western Azerbaijan Community, highlighted that the national press celebrates its 150th anniversary amid the fifth anniversary of the glorious Victory the country achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War. They emphasized how media professionals conveyed Azerbaijan’s messages to the world during the 44-day Patriotic War and subsequent local anti-terror operations that fully restored the country’s territorial integrity and constitutional order.
