Baku hosts conference dedicated to 148th anniversary of National Press

The conference themed "Media in the Era of Global Transformations: Continuity of Traditions, Principles of Journalism and Public Interests" dedicated to the 148th anniversary of the National Press has kicked off in Baku.
The event started with the performance of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan. The memory of Azerbaijani martyrs, who gave their lives for the country`s territorial integrity was honored with observing a minute of silence. The conference was co-organized by the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Media Development Agency and Azerbaijan Press Council.
Addressing the event, Chairman of the Press Council Rashad Majid highlighted the attention of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to the media. He also recalled Heydar Aliyev`s regular meetings with the media representatives.
Department head of the Media Development Agency Natig Mammadli and Chairman of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ismat Sattarov highlighted the reforms implemented in the field of media at the initiative of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The conference continued with panel sessions.
