Baku hosts seminar on Greenevo-Green Technology Accelerator
Baku, September 27 (AZERTAC). The Polish embassy and to Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Industry and Energy have arranged a seminar on environmental technologies (“green technologies”) in Baku.
The seminar, entitled Greenevo-Green Technology Accelerator, aimed to stimulate local economy and support environmental protection.
Addressing the event. Polish ambassador Michail Labenda said: “Poland will share its experiences in its transformation towards knowledge-based and green economy and reveal how its GreenEvo - Green Technology Accelerator project helped build local industry, reduce the need for foreign imports and abolish barriers to environmental technology development and transfer.“
“The presentation will cover practical aspects of GreenEvo technology verification framework and present success stories, which could inspire other governments and prove that by co-operation with the business and science, every country can benefit from the green economy`s contribution to sustainable development and poverty eradication.”
“Despite the presence of large hydrocarbon reserves, Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of alternative energy sources,” said Rasim Mammadov, a senior official at the Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Ministry.
According to him, Azerbaijan has great potential for the development of "clean energy".
Eleven leading Polish companies participated in the event and shared their experiences in implementing solutions in different areas, such as energy saving, renewable energy, water treatment and waste management.
