BAKU JAZZ FESTIVAL - 2004 DUE
Headline artist is a break dancing group from Houston, Texas, USA, “Havikoro”. Already known in the region for their performances in Kiev and Moscow, Havikoro will be in Baku next week giving workshops in break dancing. Havikoro are performing with the Baku Big Band on April 9 and their own show on April 10 at the Republican Palace. The week of workshops will be rounded off with a break dance competition at 1033 Night Club on April 11.
Drummer Chris Strik from Amine Figarova group will be performing with Emil Ibrahimoglu Trio and Baku Big Band led by Werner Englert. A new face to Baku is Kerem Gorsev form Turkey performing with his trio on April 9.
Azerbaijani musicians Jamil Amirov, Rain Sultanov, the “Bari Bakh” and “Bakustic Jazz”, etc. will be opening and closing the festival concerts at the Republican Palace.
The United Aid for Azerbaijan and American Voices will sponsor two charity events.
