BERTI VOGTS PRESENTED TO THE PUBLIC

The head coach of Azerbaijan national team Bertie Vogts was presented to the public on 14 April at the hotel «Park Inn», to be followed by a news conference. President of AFFA Rovnaq Abdullayev said the decision about the new head coach of a national team Bertie Vogts was decided in Executive Committee ordinary meeting on March 30. The contract was signed till the end of 2009.

Bertie Vogts, 1946, German. He managed national team of Nigeria in 2007-2008.

After his playing career ended, he became a coach for Germany’s U20 national team, and continued working there until 1990. In 1990, he was promoted to manager of the national team, leading Germany to a EURO 96 win.

Rovnaq Abdullayev gave the uniform of national team to Bertie Vogts.

Azad Rahimov, the Minister of Sports and Youth attended the conference.
