Bodies of Azerbaijanis killed in Yekaterinburg examined by special commission

“On June 30, the bodies of our compatriots were brought to Azerbaijan by plane and subsequently transferred to the Forensic Medical Examination and Anatomical Pathology Union, where they were examined by a special commission,” said Adalat Hasanov, Director General of the Forensic Medical Examination and Anatomical Pathology Union under the Ministry of Health, during a press conference held at AZERTAC regarding the forensic examination results of Ziyaddin and Huseyn Safarov, Azerbaijani brothers who died as a result of brutal beatings in Yekaterinburg on June 27.
Hasanov stated that the examination of the bodies was completed by midnight, and in the early morning hours, the bodies were transported to the Aghjabadi district, where the deceased resided.
On June 27, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) conducted raids on homes inhabited by Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg. As a result, two Azerbaijanis were killed, several others sustained serious injuries, and nine individuals were detained.
On June 28, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing deep concern over the incident, emphasizing: “We expect from the Russian side to conduct an urgent investigation into the matter and bring the perpetrators of this unacceptable violence to justice as soon as possible.”
