BODIES OF SPECIAL SERVICES IN PROTECTION OF NATIONAL INTERESTS OF THE COUNTRY
Discussed were the questions of economic safety, improvement and development according to new realities of cooperation in the field of combat against international terrorism, which gradually accepts more and more menacing character and wide scales. Participants of action have emphasized, that expansion of sphere of influence of the international terrorism, searches by criminals of new financial sources for realization of the terrorist-subversive intentions, such facts as trade in people, illegal circulation of drugs, washing up of dirty money, etc., represent serious threat for social and economic, political stability of the CIS states, national interests of each country.
Minister of national security Eldar Mahmudov, in his statement has noted, that prospecting activity in the Azerbaijan Republic is directed on reception and analysis of the information connected to protection of national interests in political, economic, social and other spheres of the country. In this sense, one of the major problems the Ministry faces, consists in revealing, preventing and suppression of possible threats to economic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan and projects of the international value, and also intrusion of terrorists into infrastructure of the country.
The Minister has stressed necessity of the new approach to traditional methods of operative and investigation activity from the point of view of acquiring - by the international terrorism and trans-national organized crime - more dangerous character, has emphasized the opportunity of effective struggle against the political and religious extremism, armed separatism, accompanied by terrorism, only by way of prevention of double standards, strict observance of norms and principles of international law.
Within the framework of action, Mr. Eldar Mahmudov also had bilateral meetings with colleagues.
Participants of session have noted importance of carrying out of serious discussions for definition by security service and investigations of new forms and methods of cooperation in the field of strengthening of joint combat against international terrorism and organized crime.
