British traveler: Azerbaijani government pays great attention to clearing mined areas

“As we drove through Karabakh, we passed many places where landmines had been planted. I can see that the Azerbaijani government is paying great attention to clearing these areas. It’s a well-organized and important process,” British traveler, Avi Rosenfeld told AZERTAC.
“They showed us how the demining is done, and it’s clear how meticulous the process needs to be,” he noted. “Unfortunately, it could take a very long time to clear everything. It’s really sad to hear how widespread the problem is — so many areas are still contaminated with landmines,” Rosenfeld said.
The visit was organized by NomadMania, a renowned global travel club, and includes a distinguished group of international travelers from 30 countries, representing the elite of the global travel community. Participants hail from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, the Netherlands, France, Brazil, Morocco, Denmark, Chile, Portugal, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Syria, India, Serbia, Greece, Albania, Türkiye, Slovakia, Singapore, Italy, Spain, Iran, Cameroon, China, Australia, and New Zealand.
The delegation is spending three days in Karabakh and East Zangezur, where they will witness the extensive reconstruction and development efforts underway. The group is briefed on ongoing mine clearance operations and the extent of the devastation and atrocities committed during the period of Armenian occupation.
