CARGO TRANSPORTATION RATES TO BE AGREED
A working meeting of experts to agree transportation tariffs that are to rise with regard to the construction of a terminal in Batumi seaport will take place on August 12-13. The meeting will be based on the tripartite protocol among Azerbaijan State Railway, limited company “Georgian Railway” and Kazakhstan service enterprise of the joint stock company “Kazakh Railway” on increase in volume of additional cargo transportation along Poti-Beyuk Kesik-Baku-Aktau-Almaty route and backward and protocol among the limited company “Property of stock company Marfa at Romanian railway”, Georgian Railway and Batumi Seaport signed June 25-26 this year in Batumi.
The event, which is to play a unique role in restoring the ancient Silk highway, will be represented by a group of experts headed by deputy railway chief for economic matters Igbal Huseynov. Group members will exchange views with their fellow railwaymen from Kazakhstan, Georgia and Romania and sign documents. It will play a major role in increasing the clients’ incomes interested in transportation of cargo through Azerbaijan State Railway.
