CHIEF OF CZECH PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE MEETS AZERBAIJANI PARLIAMENTARIANS
The Czech parliamentary delegation led by Jan Hamacek, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies, lower house of the Czech Parliament today has met with the members of the Standing Commission for International and Interparliamentary Relations of Milli Majlis.
Chairman of the Commission Samad Seyidov gave detailed information about activity of Azerbaijan Parliament, laws and reforms being implemented in the country. Seyidov underlined that Azerbaijan has established close cooperation with the foreign countries both in political and economic areas as well as actively participates in the events of the European Union, European Council and other international structures.
Mr. Hamacek noted that the Czech Republic is keen on developing cooperation with Azerbaijan. Aim of the visit to expand ties between the two countries, said Mr. Hamacek. He expressed his satisfaction with rapid development of Azerbaijani economy. Jan Hamacek underlined that the Czech Republic will preside over the EU in 2009.
The sides shared views on other issues of mutual interest.
