CIS MINISTERIAL COUNCIL OF DEFENSE GATHERS IN BISHKEK
CIS Ministerial Council of Defense held its 54th meeting in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan, the defense ministry of country said.
Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Safar Abiyev took part at the event. On July 2, in a news conference he spoke of the unsolved conflicts in the CIS space, in particular, called on the allies to make resolute steps related to the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
A number of the pressing questions connected with armed forces of the states of Commonwealth have been discussed. The participants approved new edition of Regulations about carrying out of repair of military techniques in establishments of the Ministries of Defense of these countries and adopted decisions connected with the project of Regulations about rules of activity of antiaircraft defense forces of the CIS countries at reception of the information on seizure by terrorists of planes, the contract draft on cooperation in the field of research of aviation incidents.
Having considered importance of development of integration processes in military sphere, Ministers of Defense have discussed a question on creation of system of exchange by the military-scientific information between the Ministries of Defense in the field of studying problems of antiaircraft defense, have approved bases of interaction of archival services, have made amendments to Regulations on realization of the policy coordinated in the field of standardization, metrology and certification.
In meeting, has been positively estimated the activity of Coordinating Committee in the field of antiaircraft defense, the joint Plan of Actions of armed forces of the CIS countries for 2009, the Long-Term Plan of carrying out of joint sports meets.
The meeting focused on as a whole more than 20 questions.
