COE EXPERTS PLEASED WITH THE LAW “ON PUBLIC TELE-RADIO BROADCASTING”
As informs AzerTAj, at the meeting was exchanged views on the bill “On public TV”. The head of relevant working group Rizvan Jabiyev has noted that the public of the country pays special attention to public TV and radio, which will play important role in development of democracy in Azerbaijan. The working group supervised by him, taking into account seriousness of the question, has done great work on the project, attentively having studied corresponding laws more than 20 countries of the world then the document has been even more advanced. Also were taken into account all the proposals made by experts of the Council of Europe. Some offers of experts contradicted principles of the Council of Europe, and therefore, amendments also have been brought in them.
Expert of the Council of Europe Floor Torhalsson has noted, that acceptance of the offers on the project, brought by structure represented by him, is the positive fact, and the organization very much appreciates it.
Mr. Varner Rumforst has emphasized, that they already do not have serious remarks on the bill. But acceptance of the law is yet not all. Some countries though have passed such laws, and nevertheless, do not hasten to start their execution. The Council of Europe wishes that after acceptance of the said law in Azerbaijan began its performance. The Council of Europe is ready to render Azerbaijan any assistance so that this question has found its solution.
At the meeting, also were focused issues on other questions representing mutual interest.
Head of MM Administration Safa Mirzoyev, chairman of Press Council Aflatun Amashov took part at the meeting.
